Dileep Lobo is a specialist Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreaticobiliary surgeon. His research interests include fluid and electrolyte balance, metabolic care of the surgical patient, acute and chronic pancreatitis and liver tumours. He is also a member of the European ERAS group and has co-authored the Guidelines on Intravenous Fluid Therapy for Surgical Patients (GIFTASUP) and is the author of the seminal article in fluid balance in abdominal surgery and will be discussing this topic Lobo DN et al. Associate Professor Andrew
G Hill MD FRACS

Andrew Hill is a specialist colorectal surgeon and the pioneer of ERAS programs in Australasia. His research interests are clinical and translational research in general surgery centred around the improvement of perioperative care and enhancing postoperative recovery. He is also the head of the South Auckland Clinical School and maintains research interests in undergraduate surgical education.
Mr Mattias Soop MD PhD FRACS

Mr Mattias Soop is a specialist colorectal surgeon who joined the University of Auckland and North Shore Hospital in 2008 from Sweden. He was one of the original members of the multinational European ERAS group. He is the cofounder of the AERAS group and has implemented ERAS protocols at the Ersta Hospital of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, as well as during his time working in the UK and the USA. He has conducted several prospective clinical and experimental trials in the field of surgical stress metabolism and physiology.
